Biography

Don Kneessi lives in Annapolis, Maryland and is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology from the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences. Don graduated with Highest Honors as he received his undergraduate degree with a major concentration in color and experimental color photography. He also received a Masters Degree in the field of Instructional Technology with a minor in Intaglio Printmaking.

Don has been an award winning magazine photographer for excellence in cover photography. He has won many awards and just recently was honored by The Naval Institute for his tall ship photography. Don is a featured artist at the Marine Art Gallery in Annapolis, Maryland. He has worked as a graphics layout and design artist, director of photography for a magazine, and has owned and operated his own commercial and fine art studio, lab, and gallery.

He currently works as a commercial and fine art photographer. In the past few years he has been commissioned to produce permanent limited edition images for his corporate clientele and is currently working on additional essay work. Don also teaches photography at Anne Arundel Community College in Annapolis, Maryland. He has a passion for fine photographic imagery, he loves hauling around his 8x10 view camera and capturing the Chesapeake Bay in black and white contrast. He is also an accomplished artist in other media such as, charcoal drawings and painting. This web site is a work in progress and Don hopes to be adding and changing images on a regular basis.
