Portrait Lighting Seminar

Each student will learn the basic portraiture lighting techniques enabling the student to correctly light and capture a portrait.  The first day of the seminar will be dedicated to the two main building block portrait lighting techniques.  Each student will learn the important technique of lighting ratios.  The total control of a lighting ratio from side to side of a subjects face is critical for a correctly exposed and finished portrait.   A demonstration of  basic posing techniques for a male versus a female will be covered.  All techniques that are discussed will be demonstrated with hands-on exposure.  It is my personal objective to have each student understand the basic portrait lighting techniques through lecture, demonstration, and hands-on actual photography. 

The second day will be dedicated to the portrait lighting technique of glamour or Hollywood portrait lighting.  High and low key portrait techniques along with the use of a third background separation light will be discussed in detail. A hands-on photo session will be held.  A review of any technique discussed in the first or second day will be held.
